HOW TO GET YOUR LICENCE
We will send you out a copy of the relevant handbook in the post ($30 for SROCP), all of the information you need to pass the marine radio operators licence exam is contained in this book. All you need to do is study independently for either your SROCP using the handbook provided, this can be done at your own leisure. The exam questions are all based on information contained in the handbook. (Note: It is not a requirement to complete a course prior to taking the exam)
Once you have studied the handbook and feel that you are ready to be examined you can then contact us, and arrange to sit the examination on our next available exam date. Exams are overseen by our Office of Maritime Communications (OMC) registered invigilator. Exams cost $150 (This includes all OMC fees and Invigilator costs)
Licence to Boat has been accredited by the OMC to invigilate SROCP exams, please note that you can not be issued a Marine Radio Operators Licence without sitting an exam with a registered invigilator.
We are very flexible with dates and times, as long as we have at least 10 days notice we should easily find a suitable time and day for you to sit the exam!
For example, we can invigilate exams after or before our Boat and Jetski licence courses on most days, just give us a call to arrange a time.
The exam only takes 30 mins for the SROCP.
You must book at least 10 days prior to exam date. This is for us to send out the study materials to you, and arrange the examination papers.
Exams are held in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.
Cost of the Exams are $150 (This includes all OMC fees, and invigilator costs)

Terms and Conditions
- Full payment for the exam must be made at the time of booking.
- Once booked full refunds can only be offered given 10 days notice of non-attendance, cancellations without 10 days notice will incur fees and charges.
- You must meet all the OMC requirements for being issued a licence please see the OMC website for details. No refunds will be issued for people who sit the exam but fail to meet these requirements.
