Can I use this licence in other states that require a licence?

Yes, but if you change your residence to another state you are required to transfer your licence to that state.

What do I need to bring on the day?

You will need to bring ID; Drivers Licence, passport, birth certificate,18+ card, student ID or acceptable identification.

Sunscreen, and suitable clothing for the weather. Remember, you may get wet! A change of clothes is a good idea.

Does the boat licence cover all size vessels?

Yes, as long as the vessel is for recreational purposes only.

Do I need a licence for my sailboat?

Yes, If your vessel has an engine greater than 6HP.

What is the minimum age for a boat or PWC licence?

The minimum age to hold a licence is 16, however you can do the course at 15 and a half and then take your completed statement of competency to be endorsed the day you turn 16.

How long will my licence be valid?

Your RMDL (boat) Licence and PWC (jetski) licenses are for life.

Do the prices shown cover both the theory and practical elements?

Yes,  you do not have to pay any more to attend the practical session. .

Is this an accredited course?

Yes, Licence to Boat is a fully accredited and Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) approved provider of Qld Boatsafe courses.

How long does the online course take?

It really depends on you and the pace you work at. But as a rough guide you can do the online course in one session and complete it in an evening, or break it up into smaller sessions over a few days. The choice is yours!

How long does the practical session take?

The Practical session will take between 2-3 hours depending on numbers. If you need to complete it faster One-on-One training can be arranged just call for details.
